Quick Reads Facts

Quick Reads are reaching a whole new demographic of adults for whom picking up a book, or visiting a bookshop had previously been unthinkable. Since our launch in 2006, Quick Reads have been effecting cultural change, and are contributing to making the UK and Ireland more literate nations.

In our 2008 evaluation of over 30,000 people, nearly two-thirds had never read a book since leaving school and 90% said that, because of Quick Reads, they now enjoy reading.

Many have gone on to read other Quick Reads, with over 50% going on to read other books as well.

In a recent survey of tutors:

• 98% said that they believe Quick Reads have helped their learners to progress
• 93% have seen increased personal confidence in their learners
• 89% have seen improved communication skills
• 78% have seen better writing skills
