Competition Terms and Conditions

1. This competition is open to anyone in the UK, except those who work on the Quick Reads project, their immediate families, and anyone connected with the production of Quick Reads products or services.

2. Entries must be received on or before, 26 February 2010. 

3. All entries will be judged by the Quick Reads Project Director and Chair, following a shortlist provided by competition co-ordinating body NIACE (National Institute of Adult Continuing Education). Their decision will be final.

4. By submitting a competition entry, entrants declare that the information submitted as part of this competition is true to the best of their knowledge.

5. Stories should reflect the impact of Quick Reads and reading on an individual’s life, and what reading means to them.

6. All entrants must be from the UK and be aged 18 or over.

7. We cannot be responsible for entry forms lost, delayed or damaged in the post. Proof of posting is not accepted as proof of delivery.

8. One entry per person may be submitted.

9. Entries are for use in Quick Reads publicity as stated in the main competition text, unless otherwise indicated.

10. No entries will be returned.

11. The competition prize for the winners includes:

1. paid travel to London for the winners, their tutors and a friend to a Quick Reads event in May 2010. Train fare is second class. If the winner lives in London this will include travel cost to and from the venue. There will be a complimentary meal at the event;

2. meeting the best-selling author attending the event; and

3. up to two hotel rooms will be booked and paid for by the Promoter to cover accommodation needs, if necessary, of the winner and tutor/ULR.

12. 50 runners up will be selected at random, and their learning provider or employer will receive a set of Quick Reads 2010 titles.

13. There is no cash alternative for this prize.

14. No correspondence will be entered in to regarding the competition.

15. The competition winners will be asked to take part in publicity.

16. The Promoter may vary, amend, suspend or withdraw the prize without notice.

17. The Promoter is Quick Reads/World Book Day, 272 Vauxhall Bridge Road, London SW1V 1BA.

18. These terms and conditions are subject to English Law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
