Reading Breaks

This year, to celebrate the launch of the new Quick Reads, we're inviting organisations and businesses nationwide to hold Quick Reads Reading Breaks and encourage people to fall in love with reading.

Reading Break activity will kick-start in February to coincide with the launch of the new titles, and we're encouraging organisations to hold activity through to World Book Day on Thursday 1 March and beyond.

Quick Reads are the perfect introduction to reading for those who don’t have the confidence or time to try other books. They have helped hundreds of employers and their staff to improve skills, productivity, attendance and morale, and have often encouraged readers to go on to further reading and learning.

By holding a Reading Break in your workplace, college, library or local community you can create a buzz about reading that will encourage even the most reluctant readers to pick up a good book.

Eight brand-new Quick Reads will be available from 2nd February 2012. There will be a big, public promotion of the new Quick Reads in February 2012, so you may want to have the books available then to make the most of all the attention Quick Reads will be getting in the media.

Whatever you’re planning, we’ve got a great range of resources to support you:
